Stained Glass Rose
Published in Paperback by Western Reflections (20 April, 2002)
Author: D. A. Brockett
Average review score:

A great read
"I see a perfectly crafted masterpiece of beauty and message. The amazing thing is, if the artist had left out even one bit of glass, the picture would be incomplete. No matter how small or colorless, each piece is necessary and valuable."

This excerpt is the secondary, but important character, Father Nick talking to Rose...the main character of Stained Glass Rose. The above sentence describes the book itself tightly written without a piece of 'necessary and valuable' information missing.

Debbie Brockett's research is impeccable. In Stained Glass Rose, she takes a real-life murder case and weaves a story of friendship around its unsolved elements. Thus not only does Stained Glass Rose hold elements of mystery, but is a book about how one important person can make a difference in someone's life.

The book, Stained Glass Rose is told through the eyes of an elderly woman. D.A. Brockett weaves her story so well she can slide her reader back and forth from flashback to present without a jolt. The book's richness is more enhanced by her choice of first person Point of View.

All characters carry a strong individual flavor in this book; a piece of Americana where 'old country' meets new. It gives us a peek of how "The Melting Pot" grew in Grand Junction Colorado.

This is a very well written and enjoyable book with a few surprises. I look forward to more of D.A. Brockett's work.

The Starr Evidence: The Complete Text of the Grand Jury Testimony of President Clinton and Monica Lewinsky

Easy to read & informative;the other side of the coin
It's been interesting, especially today, the final day of thecongressional impeachment hearings; to be able to look up thesespecific items on this book and of course, the starr report. Objective interpretation, is not as difficult as you would think, if you considered the $MONEY$ involved. Interesting as it may be to some, and equally exciting or disgusting to others, I know in my heart that no REPUBLICAN is going to walk away clean. They have been the ones to force me to lock out news channels (i.e. Fox) because I didn't appreciate my young sons watching cartoons in the afternoon, with newsbreaks busting in with "B*'s" and the like. In order to throw dirt, you must get dirty; the Republicans have wallowed in it for too long and it is obvious they are not concerned with the conduct of the OIC, our opinions, our hard earned dollars, or the supposed conservative people they represent, like me. If you don't like a dog, fine. If the dog is down, don't be seen kicking him. You look worse than that bad dog. Remember folks, someones watching.

profound wisdom
I did not think you could get any better than "To Dance With Angels" and I was wrong. This book is just as good, if not better. The wisdom, strength and courage that each of us can receive from reading and beginning to understand the three angelic principles given to us by Dr. Peebles can be life changing! The wit, love, and understanding that is shown by this gentle giant is profound. Linda, I can not thank you enough for sharing Dr. Peebles and Don with us, the readers. "We are doing the best that we can" quoting from Dr. Peebles. Dr. P, you have touched my life like no other.

Just like being there!
This book is not only concise but also very descriptive. The trails are described very well, as well as driving directions on how to get to them, and you are told what you can expect to see on each trail. It's very portable in case you'd like to tuck it into a backpack, too! Good job!

Triumphant Journey: The Saga of Bobby Jones and the Grand Slam of Golf
Published in Paperback by Taylor Pub (March, 1994)
Authors: Dick Miller and Richard Miller
Average review score:

The Real Grand Slam of Golf
This is the story of the Grand Slam in Golf (US Amateur, US Open, British Amateur, and British Open) and the only golfer to ever win it. The Modern Slam ( Masters, US Open, British Open, and US PGA ) was conceived by the press when becomeing a pro golfer became an honerable profession and amateur golf went by the wayside. The story of Bobby Jones' 1930 Grand Slam is more exiting than any modern day golf story. Jones, who quit the competive game at 28 with 13 major championships is the greatest golfer who ever lived. Tiger is really chasing Jones not Nicklaus.
